NVAIN is acollaboration of hardcore, underground metal. Too often new bands come out trying to imitate instead of originate. NVAIN is trendsetters in the world of music and the day will come when new bands will try to copy them. Destine to be the next great influence. Each band member has strong ties to metal, industrial, and rap music. Several bands were sacrificed in order to give you this hybrid creation. No one can be considered a music fan and not have respect for NVAIN.
BEN is the lead vocals of this four-headed monster. He grew up playing football in high school and music soon became his outlet for aggression. In 1994 Ben started playing guitar with a band called "Five Quart Electric". In '96 Ben found himself playing with "Drunken Slew of People". A band which also had Johnny, the future drummer of NVAIN. Traveling a different path in life, Ben reinvented himself as DJXL. Various parties and raves were hosted this master of ceremonies. Gaining a large following from his parties, DJXL was invited to scratch for a group called "WIC". With the disbanding of "WIC" Ben then began working with Nug, whom he had known since 1992, and Nug's cousin Stitch. This was the foundation for what is now known as NVAIN. The final element was to be the drummer Johnny.
STITCH plays guitar and has been raised around music. Living in a house full of musicians, it was only a matter of time before he would discover his calling. Since the age of 13 he has been playing guitar. He first displayed his skills publicly with a band his cousin Nug was also in-"Warpath". They played parties and area clubs like Connections. They placed second in a Battle of the Bands contest. Over time the band changed members till it was a new creation, "Thorn". They played gigs at Maydays, Shooters, Tabloids, the Uwharrie Sportsman, and the Cottonstock festival just to name a few. "Thorn" also had radio airplay but this would not keep them from disbanding. '99 seen the end of "Thorn" due to creative differences. A blessing in disguise, this would lead Stitch to help forming NVAIN.
NUG has already been mentioned in above bios only showing his deep roots in area music. You've already heard of his history with "Warpath" and "Thorn". An exceptional bass player, he has played with bands like "Rutkus" and was a members of "Aesop's Fools" which were regulars at Millenium, Cottonstock Festival, City Limits, Fast Freddie's, Durrango's, and has played several times at Ground Zero. He has opened for such bands as "Black Acid Disco", "Mindset", "Rivit", and "Frankenstein Drag Queens". A local legend, Nug is no stranger to radio airplay and many successful battle of the bands.
JOHNNY is the fourth catalyst in this musical dynamo. He has been playing drums since the age of 13 and was a vital part to his first band "Self-Enraged". Like the other members, Johnny is no stranger to playing area clubs. Fat City, Tremont Music Hall, and festivals such as Jelly Jam I and Jelly Jam II just to name a few. Playing with acts such as "FE26", "5X Down", "Boneshelter", "Furnace" "Sonny Ledford", "Borghal Rantipole", "The Man Ray", and "Absolute Zero". "Self-Enraged" ended in 1998 after a two year run freeing Johnny up for his induction into NVAIN.
NVAIN since forming has blown their local music scene wide open. When first forming the band, none of the band members had any idea of the attention they would receive. Already they have played shows with "Obey Bizar", "Malice", "Borghal Rantipole", "Faeraby" and "Frocky Jack". They have been to the Mayhem of Metal fest, Jelly Jam IV, and was considered an alternate for Ozzfest. If ever you were gonna get on a band wagon and support a group, now is the time. NVAIN is a metal fan's dream. Hardcore music is the love of every member of the band and it shows in their work.
